Women Breaking Barriers Celebration Event in Belfast City Hall

Tuesday 26 March 2024 from 11am to 2pm

Its an end of year celebration of the Women Breaking Barriers project. 

We are exceeding our recruitment targets for Women Breaking Barriers and the activities in each centre has been huge, with over 20 training courses from World Host to IT Skills, ESOL, Community Group Work Skills, Women in Political Life, leadership programmes and so much more. 

Many of the women have attended job fairs, built their CV’s and taken part in interview skills. 

On the day we will hear some of the success stories across Belfast and Greater Belfast and see how much WBB is building a workforce of women who want to make work pay for them.

  • 11.00am: Registration open with Tea/Coffee

  • 11.15am: Event opened by Anne McVicker, Director of WRDA

  • 11.20am: Welcome and speech from DLM Aine Groogan

  • 11.35am: WBB Evaluator Siobhan Kearney presents highlights from Year 1

  • 12.00pm: WBB, Operations Manager Deirdre Quinn highlights contribution from Women’s Centres

  • DLM presents Certificates to Delivery Partners

  • 12.30pm: Closure & Lunch
